What is a Stubby Stick?

Intro

The Stubby Stick is an upper receiver assembly for AR15 pattern rifles, that incorporates a proprietary and patent pending muzzle device. This muzzle device is pinned and welded to the barrel to make barrel length 16”. It allows for a suppressor to be mounted inside of the muzzle device.

Why?

Stubby stick gives you SBR performance with rifle regulations if you like suppressors.

Stubby Stick vs Rifle

You can add a suppressor to a Stubby Stick without adding excessive length, that’s tough to do on a 16” barrel. You can shoot unsuppressed or suppressed or move your suppressor on a Stubby Stick. You can’t move (or service) your suppressor if it’s pinned and welded to a short barrel.

Why? Stubby Stick vs SBR/PDW

You can’t take your SBR to another state without permission, but you can take your Stubby Stick equipped rifle. You can’t have an SBR without a tax stamp, but you can have a stubby stick rifle without a stamp, or with if you wish. No points to calculate. No fingerprints. No pictures. No waiting period. No “amnesty” period.

Features

Proprietary Muzzle Device- This is what makes our upper special. It’s made from chromoly steel, just like many barrels. It has a durable nitride finish. It’s great for 1.5”OD and 1.75” OD suppressors. It’s not great at “K” type suppressors, they’re a little too short to be easy to install. Direct thread suppressors 6” or longer work great. Suppressors with Quick disconnects work great when they’re over 5.75”. If your concerned about your suppressor fitting, send us a note and let’s figure it out. This device is designed, machined, welded, coated… everythinged in USA.

JP adjustable gas block- This lets you adjust gas flow to your liking. If you have too much pressure when you run a restrictive suppressor just turn the screw in (clockwise) until you’re happy. If you decide to switch to a less restrictive suppressor, or no suppressor, just open it back up (counterclockwise) until you’re happy with the performance. 5/64” allen wrench included. Made in USA.

Aero Enhanced M-lock Handguard G2- It may be bigger than most, but we think it’s the best. It’s got sling sockets, it’s got grip, and it looks great. Plenty of M-Lok options to mount all your add-ons. Made in USA.

Barrel- Your velocities are going to be comparable to traditional 10.5” barrels. This barrel is selected for maneuvering performance, not for long range ballistics. It’s made from chromoly steel and is nitride finished. Made in USA.

BCG and charging handle- Mil-Spec. Head-spaced to the barrel when bought as a package with our upper. Made in USA. Alternatively choose the “no-BCG” option and run your own BCG and charging handle.

Upper Receiver- Mil-Spec. Forged. With forward assist and shell deflector. Made in USA.

(OPTIONAL) KeyMicro adapter- Chosen for maximum versatility, this allows you to connect both KeyMo and KeyMicro suppressors. Be aware, it will not allow direct thread suppressors or other attachment methods to attach when they Keymicro adapter is installed.
